TRISKEL:
The triskel is an ancient symbol made up of three walking legs or spirals in an equilateral triangle. It usually is allocated to the celtic culture. In fact it can be found in almost any culture of the world: the north of Africa (especially Egypt), the Mediterranean, Asia and even in the gothic architecture of late european medieval times. The first known triskels have been dated to the Neolithic, thus to a period before the great cultures (Celts, Egyptians,...). The triskel is national or regional symbol of the Isle of Man, Brittany and Sicily.
The triskel symbolizes the number Three - the trinity goddess (virgin, mother, wise old), the cycle of life (birth, life and death), past, present and future and the celtic trinity of water, land and sky.
