Arang Wood (Diospyros Confertiflora) belongs to the family of ebony (Ebenaceae) and is a heavy, hard and resistant wood with a slightly higher density than water. Therefore, Arang wood does not float in water. The color of the stretcher can vary from deep black to black with more or less pronounced brown structures. Arang wood is often referred to as iron wood. However, iron wood is not black and the hardness and density are even higher than in ebony species.
